These campsites are reachable by foot or public buses since we don't have the Japanese driver's licenses. Nevertheless, they were all fantastic campsites!

We hiked through the grasslands and volcanoes of the Kuju mountain range to the free campsite nested between the mountains and hot spring. Beautiful foliage colors.

Ebino Plateau えびの高原, Miyazaki Ebino Plateau is a basin within the Mount Kirishima mountain ranges in southern Kyushu, Japan. Volcanic mountain peaks surround it. The campsite used to be reached by public buses from northern Kyushu, but since the eruptions of Shinmoe-dake, only buses from southern Kyushu is running now.
Hirado 平戸, Nagasaki The beautiful port town of Hirado is an island in Nagasaki Prefecture. The island enjoyed brisk international trade to the West and the East in past centuries. The accessible campsite is reachable by foot or bus from the town. Rental bikes are great for exploring!
